Beata Szczepaniak

Beata Szczepaniak is a graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture and Spatial Activities at the University of the Arts in Poznań. Her sculptures have been featured in exhibitions such as "A-geometry: Hans Arp and Poland" at the National Museum in Poznań, the solo exhibition "The Weight of Sculpture" at the Wozownia Art Gallery in Toruń, and various showcases at the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko. She was a finalist in the YES Scholarship Program for young designers in 2016, and was recognized at the international Elia Neu/Now festival for young artists in both 2013 and 2015.

The artist directs her interests toward form and its entanglement within space. Central to her work is how objects influence the viewer through the senses and emotions. She draws inspiration from all natural processes, as well as from that which is undefined and unnamed, translating these phenomena into the language of sculptural forms.

She carries this abstract approach to sculpture over into functional forms—jewelry. She creates under the motto "Small sculpture, close to the body," expanding her artistic practice to include objects worn directly against the skin. These are delicate, biomorphic forms crafted from silver or gilded brass.
