Finissage of the exhibition Irena Huml: Forms of Presence

Every exhibition has a beginning and an end,
but there are moments when the conclusion of a project becomes something far more significant than just an official farewell to the display. We invite you to a special finissage of the exhibition *Irena Huml: Forms of Presence*, which will take place on the very birthday of Professor Irena Huml.
It was Professor Huml—a distinguished art historian and critic—who first elevated jewelry to the status of an academic subject in Poland, recognizing it as a vessel for emotions, identity, and memory. Thanks to her keen observation, mass-produced pieces from cooperatives such as ORNO, Rytosztuka, and Warmet, as well as intricate filigree works, have become invaluable testaments to their era.
This temporary exhibition, featuring 90 objects once owned by Irena Huml, is coming to a close. However, the final evening promises to be a warm, intimate, and intergenerational gathering.
*Please note that only this specific temporary exhibition is ending! Other pieces from Irena Huml’s remarkable collection remain on view daily as part of our permanent exhibition—a space that stays constant and is always accessible to enthusiasts of Polish goldsmithing.
Event program:
A meeting with the daughter of Professor Irena Huml—a unique opportunity to hear personal recollections of a scholar who did not merely study the art of goldsmithing, but lived it every single day.
A documentary film screening—a special showing of a film dedicated to Professor Irena Huml, created by her grandson. This is a unique look at her—from a personal, familial, and deeply affectionate perspective.
Join us for the final guided tour of the temporary exhibition, offering a glimpse at the Professor’s symbolic desk, her personal belongings (including a "lucky" brooch and wedding rings), and one-of-a-kind pieces of the goldsmith’s art.
